Where And When To Show Up On Ride Day
Are you getting to our Greenport, NY start/finish line on your own, or are you taking our OPTIONAL transportation from Manhattan to the Greenport start/finish line? Info on both choices below:
These are the times you should ARRIVE to check in. Please do NOT arrive earlier! You’ll just be in the way, and the set-up crew is surly enough at this hour. Go home and go back to sleep!

If you are taking our OPTIONAL transportation from Manhattan out to the Greenport start/finish line, check in here:
W. 31st Street and 8th Avenue
New York, NY
There is NO pedaling in Manhattan for this ride -- we just meet here and transport your bike and you out to the actual start/finish line in Greenport, NY.
Arrive at 4:30 a.m. (Ugh!) Yes, it’s too early. Yes, we’re nuts. (But it’s the only way to get your bike and you out to Greenport, NY in time to ride.)
WARNING! At the Manhattan check-in location we will start loading bikes at 4:30 a.m. If we look around and see no more bikes that need loading, we will leave for the Greenport, NY start/finish line. If you are late, you will miss the ride! NO REFUNDS.
NOTE: When we return home from the ride, we do NOT go to W. 31st & 8th where we started the day. We go to:
10th Avenue between 31st Street and 32nd Street
(Just two blocks away from where you started).
Why use a different location on the way home? Well, first because it’s fun to confuse everyone. But also because in the morning there’s no traffic, and it’s nice to start the day near the bathrooms, subways, and water inside Penn Station at 31st and 8th. But when we get home in the afternoon/evening the traffic around there is nuts, and there’s no good place to park buses and trucks and unload your bike. So we move two blocks away to make it safer and saner for your bike and you.

OK, But What Time Can I Actually Start to PEDAL?
We do NOT do a mass start -- after you check in, you can start pedaling whenever you're ready.
The Escorted Ride
If you want to ride with the OPTIONAL 72- or 25-mile escorted group, those riders will depart from the Greenport start line at 8:00 a.m. -- be sure to be on time! (Show up no later than 7:30 a.m. so you have time to check in before the escorted group pulls out at 8:00 a.m. SHARP!)
If you are taking our optional transportation from Manhattan to the ride you will arrive in time to do the escorted ride.
