Driving Directions to the
Greenport, NY Start/Finish Line
The start/finish line of the ride is located at:

Don’t forget that the start line is about 100 miles from NYC -- be sure to leave PLENTY of time to get there if you’re driving. Check in at Greenport runs from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. ONLY.
You just might like these directions better than the on-line version (I do!):
Take I-495 East (The Long Island Expressway) and get off at Exit 73 toward Greenport/Orient
Go 2.6 miles. Enter the next traffic circle and take the second exit on to CR-58/Old Country Road. You should pass Pizza Hut on your right and Burger King on your left.
Go 0.8 miles and turn left on to Northville Turnpike/CR-43.
Go 2.3 miles (PAST the traffic light) and turn right on to Sound Avenue at the "T" intersection.
Go 17.5 miles. Along the way Sound Avenue becomes CR-48 East/Middle Road.
Just PAST the green "Greenport" sign on your right. Turn right on to Chapel Lane.
Go 0.3 miles. Turn left on to NY-25/Main Road.
Go 1.0 miles and turn left in to the high school parking lot. You will pass a 7-11 store on your right -- a great place for last-minute coffee and snacks.
There is plenty of free parking at the school, plus around the tennis courts and skate park nearby. Oh yeah, do not take your road bike on the skateboard ramps. Trust me on this one.

Driving Directions and Parking for the Manhattan Check-In
Geez, I wouldn’t recommend it! If you MUST drive in Manhattan, you may be able to find free parking in the west 20s and 30s. There are also a couple expensive parking lots nearby. The Manhattan check-in is located at the corner of W. 31st Street and 8th Avenue, in front of Madison Square Garden.
